Why the Wii U Sucks in Every Measurable Way

Wii U

The Wii U is something we here call a “piece of shit”. It’s bloated, doesn’t do anything particularly well, and sets you back USD 300. Many users complain about all of the issues that the Wii U faces, and we’re going to focus on those. Eighth-generation consoles place an emphasis on a rich, vast online multimedia experience, and Nintendo clearly falls behind in that criteria. Nintendo often brandishes features such as Netflix, a social network feed called Miiverse, and a digital game shop, however these offer nothing compared to similar experiences on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The GamePad has an astoundingly low battery life, clocking in at 5 hours. Most of the content doesn’t transfer will from the first-generation Wii, including game save data, Mii characters, and downloaded software. The OS is blotchy and slow, constantly requires new updates, and doesn’t work in sync with the GamePad. We could go on and on, eventually creating a laundry list, but that’s not the point. The point is that even Nintendo has declared that the Wii U is a flop, cutting sales estimates by two-thirds. What that means for Nintendo, and the industry in general, is up to the consumer.
